Description
(Cahors) Before Argentina, Cahors was the place to find wines made predominantly from malbec, where the wines were known as “black wines”. Traditionally a “minor” blending grape in Bordeaux, malbec has reached new heights of popularity in the last few years. This wine is a bit softer than the classic Cahors style due to the addition of 15% merlot, but it’s still very much a French malbec; rich, dark fruit, plenty of earthy structure and spice. This wine begs for bold foods like steak au poivre or strong blue cheese and oil cured olives.
